The American Pasha's party was held immediately following a lecture on Mamluk Carpets by one of the pre-eminent experts in the field. It is fun to note that we had people from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Delaware, the District of Columbia as well as England and Turkey.

In the fore ground is Osman Mawardi. Mawardi is an Egyptian scholar and expert in Mamluks who currently resides in Cleveland Ohio.. Mawardi is also a Harvard trained nuclear physicist who works in fusion research as well as being a wine expert. In the fore ground we have Leninesque collector/dealer R. John Howe with Gerard Paquin of Northhampton Massachusetts.
