ages ago. They have been sitting in a broken
computer and I was just able to retrieve them.
Poor Ed probably thinks I am nuts for taking so
long. The basic design is one we see in many
areas in Turkey. This includes Konya, Karapinar,
Mujar and others. The pattern and color remind me
of a rug attributed to Mujur page 87 in Oriental
Carpets by Ulrich
Schurmann. The purple in both of these rugs
appears to the one we see in pre-synthetic
Anatolian rugs. In the detail picture below note
how the pile height varies by color. This is also
a sign of a very old rug. The brown is down to
the collars, the red is low and the tan is still
thick. I suspect the tan is undyed camel wool.
