Examples:

Yatak Rug Ayiman Area C. 1900Yatak Rug Ayiman Area C 1900
Eastern Anatolia, circa 1900. Approx 232 x 121 cm.

This coarse, knotted Yatak with long, non-shorn pile shows a simple pattern of two rectangles in red, blue, yellow, green, and brown. It probably originates from the eastern Anatolian region, Ayiman, and served as a sleeping pad. Customized for their own needs and in daily use, such pieces have rarely survived. It was only in the last decades that they entered the West. Overall well maintained, pile in places worn out.
