Nadir Shah Afshari was an Afshar who ruled Persia but was so despotic that he was killed by his own men and there was no dynasty. Famed for invading India and sacking Lahore. The booty from that raid is nearly incalculably huge in today's dollars.

Julfa is in Nakhichevan.
This wonderfully atmospheric semi-desert region is separated from the main portion of Azerbaijan by Armenia. Facilities are very basic and heating fuel is hard to find in the winter, but the arid mountains bordering Armenia and Iran are magnificent. As an autonomous republic within Azerbaijan, Naxcivan. has its own parliament (President Aliyev is the former parliamentary speaker) and tourists need special permission to visit. The main city, also called Naxcivan., was an ancient trading center. According to Armenian legend, the city was founded by Noah. http://www.usembassybaku.org/post/city.htm
There was a significant Armenian population circa 1600. Many of these Armenians lived in Julfa and were force to move to the Safavid capital at Isfahan where they establihed New Julfa.

The National Brukenthal Museum
"The National Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu is well-known as an institution of European prestige and one of the greatest Romanian museums. Its collections were constituted by baron Samuel von Brukenthal (1721-1803), governor of Transylvania between 1777-1787. In 1790 - three years before the Louvre was opened - the collections of Samuel von Brukenthal could be visited. The official opening of the museum took place on the 25th of February 1817; it is the first museum in Romania that has been functioning ever since." Welcome to the National Brukenthal Museum!
