I recently had the chance to question Lewis Sorley. Bob as we call him went from the Army to the CIA after the Vietnam war and has been there since. I asked Bob if it was fair to characterize the CIA efforts in the war as weak and ineffective. He said it was his analysis that the company had a two part role in the war. Intelligence gathering they did well, but on the covert side they were completely ineffective. He said he could not document one success during the entire war. Now Bob Sorley has been accused of being Bill Colby's chief and most vociferous apologist so these accusations are most damning.

Of course it is only the tip of the iceberg that we outsiders see. Take for instance just this week the story leaked out that the Israelis have been bugging the White House. All of our most precious secrets and Bill's phone sex with Monica. (see FBI Probes Espionage at Clinton White House ) It is going to get even worse because the cat is out of the bag that the Israelis have high ranking deep cover mole in the white House code name Mega. The funny part is that it is so obvious who Mega is that he will be caught and the scandal could not only kill the chances for Mid-East Peace but may also cost the Dems the election.
